A good season…

It has been a great experience shooting photos for my favorite sports team, the Caldwell Academy Baseball team. They have been collaborating with me for photos and videos since my junior year of high school (last year). This year, I had the opportunity to assume the role of Social Media Manager for the team. I thoroughly enjoyed being part of this team for the past few months and gaining insight into the inner workings of a high school baseball team.

Being a part of a baseball team has taught me many valuable lessons. I witnessed how a team of guys could form a close-knit baseball family. Although disagreements occasionally arose, the positive aspects always outweighed them. These players dedicated most of their days in a week to training together, driven by the desire to defeat their upcoming opponents. When the coaches spoke, everyone paid attention. These guys demonstrated unwavering determination when it came to baseball.

When you go to the games, all you see is the relentless hard work being put in. The score could be low, but it never stops them. One thing I noticed was the immense emotional intensity of this sport. At the end of the games, if we suffered a loss, everyone appeared downcast. However, the coaches reminded us not to be disheartened by a loss. On the other hand, whenever we emerged victorious, everyone was filled with happiness and smiles. Ultimately, both the team and players understood that a loss does not define the team. It is the players themselves who truly define the team.

Over these past few months, I have truly felt like I was part of the team. It went beyond just being a team; it felt like being part of a family. Initially, everyone seemed a bit skeptical about having a camera around. However, as time went on, these guys made me feel like I belonged. They laughed, smiled, and engaged in conversations whenever I was present. I couldn't be more grateful for such a wonderful experience on the baseball field.

Lastly, I would like to express my gratitude to Coach Bozarth, the Athletic Director and Baseball Coach at Caldwell Academy, for allowing me to join them on this journey. It has been a valuable learning experience for me. I also want to thank the rest of the coaching staff for granting me the opportunity to witness their training process with the team. Observing their coaching methods has been an invaluable learning experience. As a photographer and videographer, I encourage others to get involved with a sports team and witness it firsthand. It's a wonderful feeling, and I wouldn't trade it for anything else.
